![]() Since I could only get them off the ipod as "regular" (not "criteria") I am still stuck at reclaiming those, but this is a big step. EDIT: I am assuming that I could load my entire music library into iTunes, import the playlists into iTunes, and then (hopefully!) use the MusicBee -> iTunes import tool to get my playlists from iTunes into MusicBee but once I did that I realized it says "track, rating, and play counts" only.but it did transfer the playlists. NOTE: Small side issue: they all show up as "regular" playlists although some of them are "smart" (criteria based) playlists. However, I see no way to copy them to my Musicbee library (no right click option, can't drag+drop, etc.). both libraries are 'complete and separate' and are identical in every way other than 1 is lossless and 1 is lossy). It properly detects ipod and I can see all the relevant playlists on my ipod in musicbee. Each iTunes library has its own/separate iTunes library.xml files (i.e. Plug in iPod and load MusicBee as administrator. Import from iTunes feature of MusicBee, but my iTunes library is completely empty (playlists I want are on the ipod). I get the "no" red circle everywhere except for "now playing", but when I drag+drop a playlist from iTunes into the now playing of musicbee, nothing happens. txt file onto an already existing (empty) playlist, but when I do this, nothing happens. Drag and drop the txt file into MusicBee. This is good enough that I will just remake the criteria playlists by hand, but if anyone knows a way to get them off the ipod and onto MB, it would be very helpful My playlists are all "normal" (not criteria-based) since I could only export/import into iTunes (they are "smart" on the ipod, but I can't seem to get them to export as smart). txt file)Ħ) Rebuilding my library in iTunes, then reloading my playlists and using the import feature DID work although it didn't say it would import playlists and it seemed to happen a good while after it "finished" (or at least, I didn't see the playlists when the rating transfer completed, but after a few minutes they were there ) So in an attempt to recreate my library (in MusicBee instead of iTunes this time around) I have:ġ) Copied all music files from my backup drive to my new computer.Ģ) Installed and imported all music into MusicBee.Ĥ) Loaded iTunes and plugged in my ipod classic.ĥ) Select playlist -> iTunes File -> Library -> Export Playlist (exports as. However, I lost my iTunes metadata, EXCEPT for playlists I had on my ipod (classic). ![]() ![]() I already have all of my music files backed up and reloaded on my new computer into MusicBee. ![]()
